We hope that you made it safely through the weeks and months that are behind us when we all tried to cope with the impacts of the Corona virus. It also impacted the possibility to ship yarns to other countries.
Right now, the shipping to the following countries is disrupted heavily and only possible through a pretty expensive option (50 EUR shipping fee) : United States, Australia and New Zealand.
Recently, shipping to Canada resolved to normal. Countries that don’t allow shipping are removed in the shopping cart.
We will send another update once the situation changes and hopefully improves.
Luxx Yarns Updates
We have updated our yarns to a large variety of yarn qualities.
New recently added yarns are:
- Kid Silk Lace is a lace yarn with a running length of 420 meters per 50 grams (460 yd per 1,76 ounces). It is made of 28% silk and 72% fine kid mohair.
- Silky Singles (see below for a preview) is a very soft and shiny yarn. It consists of 70% merino from South America and 30% silk. The yarn is elegant and very drappy, which makes is ideal for knitting beautiful shawls. The single-ply construction makes for a very quick and delightful knit. It runs 400m per 100gr.
- Zebra (4Ply & DK): This highland yarn comes from the Peruvian Highlands and consists of a white and a grey to black strand. Depending on the number of stitches knitted the project will have a zebra effect and looks interesting even without a complicated pattern.
In addition, we have many new colours for our super popular yarn “Cool Summer”: Cool Summer is a light and breezy 2-ply DK weight yarn, consisting of 65% finest silk from China and 35% premium linen from Belgium. The yarn is being mixed, combed and spun in Switzerland ensuring very high quality processes.
Stock Numbers
We do not have all colours of all yarn quality in stock at all times. In the shop you can now see more easily if the desired quality can be dyed again, based on available undyed yarn and dye recipes.
Therefore, if the colour is a regular colour (not a “Treasures” variant), and we still have the undyed base yarn, you can go ahead and order yarn to be dyed.
