Care Advice
Hand dyed yarn can bleed when washed for the first time and depending on the color family used. I take great effort to wash out any dye which was not absorbed by the fiber and also fix the dye to the fiber. Nevertheless it is advisable to first wash the finished garment separately using gentle cycle or handwash cycle using wool detergent. Please consider using a color absorbing cloth (so-called “color catchers”) if you have knitted a garment using multiple colors. These cloths can be purchased in many drugstores. Please also follow the recommendation on the ball band of your yarn.
You can buy color catchers, or create your own (as discussed here).
Knitting Advice
This yarn is handdyed, and every hank is slightly different, and is generally unique. For the same colour names, we will use the same dyeing recipes, but because of the special dyeing process and slightly different movements there will be slight differences. Inside of a hank, this is wanted, and when using several hanks, there can be hue differences, which can be avoided: please, for larger knitting projects, regularly alternate between two skeins during knitting. This will help to avoid any unwanted stripes, and ensure to harmonize the colour effect.
